Signature Construction partners with TRC to build 42 new homes

42 homes are one step closer to completion in Glen Innes, with build partner Signature Construction Ltd recently being awarded the build contract for TRC’s Epping-Evandale N2.3 development.

Located on the corner of Epping Street and Heatherbank Street, Epping-Evandale 2.3 is a short walk from the Glen Innes Town Centre, local parks, including Taniwha Reserve and Maybury Reserve, key train and bus connections, local schools and community facilities.

Gareth Ready, CEO of Signature Construction, is excited about the partnership and looks forward to building healthy homes for the Tāmaki community.

“This is a development for people. The why, and the cause is what drives our team to collaborate, and we are very proud to be considered a partner.

“Better outcomes start with good housing. Quite often, we take for granted the place we call home, a roof over our head that we are safe to thrive under. We’re excited about these homes because they will be significantly healthier homes.”

This Epping-Evandale development is driven by Mana Whenua and community feedback, thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse needs of the Tāmaki community. It offers small and large homes, with 40 terraces and two freestanding homes that will range from 2 – 4 bedrooms and be built to 6 Homestar Standard to ensure whānau have a warm, healthy, cost-effective, and more environmentally-friendly whare to call their own.

60% of the development is allocated to public housing, while the remaining 40% is dedicated to whānau entering their shared home ownership journey through TRC’s OWN IT programme.

TRC’s Master Planning Manager, Jayesh Parekh, is passionate about creating homes to suit all whānau, and designing neighbourhoods that capture the rich cultural landscape and narratives of Tāmaki.

"Epping-Evandale N2.3 will be more than just a housing development, it will also be a place where whānau can live, play and come together as a community. The design and layout of N2.3 works with the whenua, delivering a mixture of typologies and creating integrated communal spaces.

“Of special note is the development’s colour and material palette, which is designed to reflect the qualities of what makes Glen Innes so special. This is complimented by distinctive landscape features that integrate local narratives into the area’s design, so it can tell its own story.”

Civil works are set to commence from January 2025 and the project is planned for completion in July 2027.
