Tāmaki Regeneration (TRC) is a place-based organisation that works alongside the community to deliver New Zealand’s largest regeneration programme in Tāmaki, the East Auckland suburbs of Glen Innes, Panmure and Point England.
In 2012, the Government and Auckland Council established Tāmaki Redevelopment Company Limited as a Schedule 4A company under the Public Finance Act, to facilitate the regeneration of Tāmaki.
Our three delivery areas include:
Building quality homes and neighbourhoods
The regeneration programme is redeveloping approximately 2,550 social homes into a total of 10,500 new warm and dry social, shared home ownership, affordable rental and market homes over the life of the regeneration programme. We plan to demonstrate the best in urban design thinking and to meet the needs of the diverse communities in Tāmaki by building the right type of homes, while driving efficiency throughout the development process with smart design and procurement.
Being an excellent community housing provider
We are sharpening our focus on delivering excellent tenancy and asset management services, understanding the barriers and enablers that impact whānau in social housing, and driving meaningful change in a cost-effective manner. We work to support our tenants to live well in their neighbourhoods, providing maintenance for homes, supporting social housing whānau through the rehousing process, and connecting tenants to wider social services.
Leveraging the redevelopment to enable greater social and economic outcomes
We remain steadfast in our commitment to social and economic development programmes, including our Shared Home Ownership programme, the Tāmaki Job and Skills Hub, and broader economic initiatives. These targeted efforts are pivotal to achieving lasting improvements in income, employment, health, and education.
