Let the building begin: Concord housing development enters next phase
March 27, 2025

Tamaki Regeneration Company (TRC) has taken a significant step forward on the Concord Development site, celebrating its official launch in Glen Innes on Monday. The event marked the commencement of the vertical build specifically, with construction partner Precision Construction Ltd now beginning construction on-site.
"We are delighted to partner with Tāmaki Regeneration Company to provide a high-quality, warm, sustainable for the families of Tāmaki to thrive in. Our innovative construction approach will allow us to complete the Concord development in just over a year” says Precision Construction Chief Executive Quentin Quin.
"Beyond delivering quality housing, we are committed to prioritising social, economic, and environmental outcomes for the Tāmaki community. We will be creating training/employment opportunities for Māori and Pasifika, partnering with Tāmaki College for apprenticeships and work experience, and collaborating with local businesses—ensuring the positive impact of this project lasts for generations."
Located between Concord Place, Taniwha Street, and Elstree Avenue, the development covers a site area of 19,172 square metres. Over the next year, it will see over 2,000 cubic metres of concrete poured, more than 10,000 trees planted, and a mix of 84 new public and affordable homes delivered for the local community.
The launch event was lucky enough to welcome onsite Soana Pamaka, Principal of Tāmaki College, who has been living or working in the Tāmaki community for 35 years. Collaborating with community leaders is a key value in TRC’s mahi and vital in ensuring that regeneration work carried out will meaningfully improve health, education, employment and environmental opportunities for many generations of whānau to come.
In acknowledgement of the site’s history and significance, TRC recognises Ngāti Pāoa’s connection to the whenua and maunga and will continue to reflect the iwi’s aspirations for the site.
Chief Executive Officer, Shelley Katae, adds “This development is such an exciting one for TRC. Not only due to its scale, but also the way in which we are able to reflect the local community and mana whenua in its design, development and delivery. We look forward to many future successes for all alongside the team at Precision Construction.”
TRC will share further updates as the development progresses. More details on the Concord Development can be found here.
