Precision Construction to deliver major TRC development

Precision Construction is the newly appointed build partner for TRC’s Concord development in Glen Innes – a development set to bring a mix of 84 new homes, including apartments and terraced houses, to Tāmaki whānau.

“This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both our organisations. We look forward to working together to deliver high-quality homes and create a community where Tāmaki whānau can flourish.,” says Quentin Quin, Precision Construction Chief Executive.

Located on Concord Place with frontages to Taniwha Street and Elstree Avenue, Concord is only a stone’s throw away from key locations in the area, such as local schools, Ōmaru Stream, Point England and Wai-o-taiki reserves, the Glen Innes Pools and Recreation Centre, and the Glen Innes Town Centre.

It is TRC’s second major development designed for 100% TRC takeout and is one of seven projects of scale that will see a total of 742 new whare to Tāmaki over the next four years.

Daniel Henderson, TRC’s GM Development and Commercial, is excited for the future of this site.

“Concord will be housing that is accessible for all generations. We are aiming to deliver to whānau quality, affordable housing by fostering innovative partnerships with build partners, sustainable practices, while promoting the best interests of community.

“There is excitement to deliver what whānau have been waiting so long for – it’s coming.”

Concord’s housing options are carefully designed to cater for whānau of different sizes and stages in life, consisting of 55% public and 45% affordable homes. From first home buyers and small whānau to Tāmaki Housing residents, elderly, and residents with mobility requirements, the 2–6-bedroom homes are designed to meet the diverse needs of the Tāmaki community.

The development’s partnership with Ngāti Paoa has also opened the doors for Concord to act as a potential gateway to Te Whanake and connect with TRC’s 136 Taniwha Street Development.

“This development is significant in that it recognises Ngāti Paoa’s connection to the whenua and the moana, as well as the ancestral ties that link to this space. Its proximity to Ōmaru Stream and other Ngāti Paoa developments means unique opportunities for the Concord development to reflect and compliment Ngāti Paoa’s aspirations for the area and its people,” says Michael Phillips, TRC Māori Outcomes Manager.

“It is a strong reaffirmation of the mana of Ngāti Paoa in Tāmaki and through design feedback from Ngāti Paoa, TRC has been able to work in a way that acknowledges and facilitates Ngāti Paoa remaining visible in the landscape.”
