A part of Tāmaki Regeneration Company’s work sees the improvement and redevelopment of social housing, whilst making a commitment to existing social housing residents in Tāmaki that they will be given the opportunity to remain in Tāmaki should they wish to do so. As Neighbourhood Liaison Advisor, you will work with impacted whānau to support them in the transition from their existing social house into new and improved housing, working to enable opportunities and understand any issues they may be facing.  

You will collaborate with the wider TRC team to ensure relocation is smooth, efficient and supported, as well as being the on the ground face of TRC and the first point of contact for Tāmaki whanau.  With a high level of empathy and demonstrated understanding and ability to meaningfully apply Maori and Pasifika cultural protocols and practices, you will build trust and rapport with not just social housing residents, but also private tenants and owners, businesses and schools who may be impacted by any changes, as well as attend community meetings and events on behalf of TRC.  You will also have demonstrated understanding and be able to meaningfully apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi into all aspects of your Neighbourhood Liaison Advisor mahi.

Ideally, you will have experience in case management, facilitating engagement programs, and have demonstrated results in local community initiatives.  Although not necessary, a qualification in social services or similar would be advantageous, and strong computer literacy is a must, as is understanding of the Tāmaki community (or similar).
